Tanguru

Olearia albida – A genus of the tree daisy of which 32 are found in New Zealand, all of which are endemic.

Tanguru of the Tangihua forest are found.

Tanguru are found on the higher open, steep, sunny slopes of the ranges. they are considered a coastal plant.

Tanguru description

Tanguru is as shrub like tree growing to 5m high with multiple branches.

Tanguru leaves and bark

Tanguru leaves are light green, oblong and wavy in shape which have a white underside. The bark is paper like, grooved flaky bark which peels off in narrow strips.

Tanguru Flowers and fruit

The Tanguru flowers are large rounded panicles, white and prolific.
